K2007

The company group, just like in 2004, can be visited in (Hall17/C78), one of the most popular arenas at the K07 International Plastics and Rubber Fair to be held in 24-31 October, 2007 in Düsseldorf.

At the dr-PLAST booth several developments will be introduced on 123 sqm with special regard to the novelties completed since the K04. Most unfortunate that area available will be insufficient to introduce a complete working equipment but there will be opportunity to present the modules of the most significant novelties:

  • a movie clip of the new construction blown film making equipment utilizing Open Blown technology to produce jumbo rolls from the 6 stripes;
  • the die with the rotating core, as the basis for the new technology, and a cooling unit with non-contact calibre;
  • an extruder supplied with a tempering unit developed by DR-PACK and also equipped with a planet-wheel gear;
  • an in-line winding unit that represents a revolutionary solution for winding jumbo rolls will be winding household size finished products from giant jumbo rolls.

„Turning Vision into Business“

K 2007 in Düsseldorf in October: The global market for the plastics and rubber industry spread across 168,000 square metres of net exhibition space

Raw materials manufacturers and machine builders step out with substantially larger presentations. Companies from 57 countries to be showcased.
The worldwide plastics and rubber industry is putting its best foot forward in this K year. Machine builders, raw materials manufacturers and processors can boast good results and, a few risk factors aside, the outlook for the coming months is optimistic. Ulrich Reifenhäuser, Chairman of the K 2007 Exhibitor Council, commented: “2007 is still young, but the initial results look very promising! The upturn has penetrated all industry sectors without exception from production/distribution through machine building and processing to recycling. After a strong second half of 2006, business is expected to continue developing positively in the coming months and growth should match the levels achieved in 2006. All indicators point to this favourable scenario, especially given that not only has the economic climate improved but the catch-up process on the investment backlog of the last two years is filling order books. Investors’ greater readiness to loosen their purse strings is unmistakable. Capital is being directed chiefly at replacement purchases and expansion measures.”
Against this welcome backdrop, exhibitors are working at full tilt to put on a convincing show of innovations for visitors to the world’s No. 1 plastics and rubber fair, to be staged from 24 to 31 October 2007.  More than 2,900 companies will showcase their latest developments for all industry segments at the premier event in Düsseldorf. The spectrum of suppliers extends from major global players to start-ups and the product palette from standard raw materials to individually customised tools. All the building blocks needed for optimal production conditions at each step in the process will be available, starting with basic materials, moving on to plant and machinery and culminating in complex solutions for various user industries.

K 2007 is fully booked. The area covered by exhibitors will be roughly 8,000 square metres larger than in 2004 and adds up to a net of more than 168,000 square metres. This expansion is being made possible by the construction of a new exhibition hall in the north of the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center which will be completed on schedule in autumn 2007. Even after the extension, the intuitive breakdown of K into the following segments will remain intact machinery and equipment, raw materials, auxiliaries, semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastic products as well as, services.

Suppliers of machinery and equipment are traditionally the largest exhibitor contingent at K. This year, they will be occupying 115,000 square metres of floor space – an increase of some 2,000 square metres on the previous event and equivalent to about two thirds of the total exhibition area. Halls 1 to 4 and 9 to 17 are reserved for this exhibitor group. Manufacturers of raw materials, semi-finished products and technical parts will be setting up shop in Halls 5 to 8a. Of that area, 36,000 square metres of net space will be used to accommodate raw materials suppliers. This is up some 5,000 square metres from K 2004 and will account for a good fifth of the total floor space. Stretched across 13,000 net square metres, the section dedicated to processors has remained at a constant size compared with the previous event (just under 8 percent of the total exhibition area). The new Hall 8b will serve as the interface between the product segments.

The number of companies set to take the spotlight at K has not yet been finalised as participants grouped at joint stands are still to be named. Messe Düsseldorf assumes that the ultimate figure will be somewhere over 2,900 exhibitors. One thing already certain today is that the mix and proportions of the nationalities represented will provide a 360-degree overview of the global market. About 57 percent of the exhibition space has been booked by companies based outside Germany. In line with tradition, Italy will make the strongest showing with companies from that country alone displaying their products over about 30,000 net square metres. Also out in force will be Switzerland (8,300 square metres), Austria (6,500 square metres), Taiwan (5,300 square metres) as well as France, the UK and USA (each with over 4,000 square metres). When divided into continents of origin, K exhibitors from Europe (excluding Germany) have claimed some 70,000 square metres (roughly 1,000 more than at K 2004), Asia has snapped up an additional 5,000 square metres to reach 19,000, while America’s share has remained almost constant at 6,500 square metres. All in all, the companies participating in K 2007 come from 57 countries around the world. Ulrich Reifenhäuser sums up the situation: “Thanks to the mix of exhibitors, we can once again safely say that the depth and breadth of the product panorama at K is unparalleled by any other fair. K 2007 will confirm its status as the world’s leading event. No one active in the industry will want to miss out!”

Already today, anyone can find out what will be on offer at K 2007, who is exhibiting and which countries will be represented once again or for the first time. Online at www.k-online.de, the preliminary but daily updated list of exhibitors can be viewed.

But there’s far more to the K Düsseldorf Internet portal – including daily press news updates from the industry as well as the latest research findings in all fields and a wealth of service offerings for visitors and exhibitors. Even admission tickets to the top fair can be ordered online. The tickets will then be mailed to the buyer. One advantage of ordering tickets over the Net is the reduced price. One-day tickets, for instance, will cost only EUR 49 instead of the EUR 55 payable at the box office in Düsseldorf. Three-day tickets go for EUR 108 online, and EUR 120 at the fairgrounds. What’s more, those who already have their tickets before leaving for Düsseldorf can use them to travel free of charge to the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center on local public transport. The tickets are valid for travel on all modes of transport in Düsseldorf and the surrounding region.

The buzzword for K 2007 is “Turning Vision into Business”. The world’s No. 1 trade fair for plastics and rubber, to be staged from Wednesday, 24 October to Wednesday, 31 October 2007 between 10am and 6.30pm daily, will occupy all the halls (1 to 17) of the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center.
